Hear Me, Hear Me

As I just posted on my main page (1000 Miles) I plan to maintain three blogs. Bust a Cap will be about beer, beverages, and food, but mainly beer.

The page you're on now (Inner Loop) will be related to music, whether something I'm generating or simply listening to. This blog, although not central like 1000 Miles ("about traveling, whether to exotic lands or just through the wheel of life"), is actually the most important to my livelihood (second to the most elemental needs of survival, of course).

Even when it's not a steady source of income, I still consider myself to be a "musician" first. Delusional, maybe, but it's the very core of my well-being. Therefore, maintaining this blog will help keep my life on track. Every time I felt myself slipping away from family and friends, I realized I'd stopped caring about music. Sure, it wouldn't necessarily be the primary reason for detachment, but whenever I was dissatisfied with life, I would deny myself the pleasure of listening and/or playing music. Granted, a little detox is good for every vice now and then, but music is like breathing to me. I am simply not a healthy person without it. You might also think it impossible to avoid music in this day and age, but you would be surprised.

In writing this blog, I will challenge myself to keep music alive, hopefully with the encouragement (and policing) from readers like you. I have a few ideas for projects to keep my musical mind active for the new year. I am a beginner at blogging, so I am not sure about the legal aspects as to copyright and whatnot. One idea I have in mind is to get back into writing actual notes on paper. It has been far too long since I have composed anything, so that will take some time getting back. For now, I would like to work on transcriptions to also help me get better with notation software. My first assignment involves a B-Side by a certain Neville Brother who is scheduled to play The 9:30 Club with Galactic on February 6th.
